This test is one of the many tools used by the Van Essen Group to help you choose a career that will suit your ambitions, personality and skills. If you are considering changing jobs it is important to find out what matters most to you in your work.
By filling out the questionnaire and reading the results (to be mailed) you will become more aware of your own career anchors. The results provide a checklist of motives that will help you to choose the right career path or specific job. It will also be useful if you want to draw up a career action plan or consult a career specialist.
Instruction career test
The test consists of 36 questions. Each question contains two statements. The idea is that you choose for each question which of the two statements most closely matches what you care about, even if neither of these statements reflects entirely your opinion.
Suppose you dislike working with machines and computers and you get the following two statements:
- I prefer to work with computers
- I prefer to work with machines
Even if neither of these statements reflects your own feeling, you still have to make a choice. Decide which of the two statements best suits you and select that statement.
